Parties can be such educational experiences and for serious journalist Nina Blackington her first party at the Hottie Mansion turns out to be very educational and so much more than just a story.
Nina was a pent up socialite who wanted people to take her seriously so when she is offered a story by her boss to interview the famous owner of the Hottie Mansion, she accepted. As she entered the mansion, she was certain this would be no ordinary interview. Everybody was barely clothed if not totally naked. She is approached by Vince, a fellow journalist who works for Hottie Magazine. As their relationship gets more involved and some of her fantasies are fulfilled, she realizes she has been deceived. When she finds out just who has betrayed her, who will have hell to pay? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
I felt a kinship to Nina's character. She was a very smart journalist and woman who found herself in a very different atmosphere than she was used to. Vince was a gorgeous man who was used to getting any woman he wanted without his conscience bothering him, that is until he met Nina. As their relationship grew, I found myself becoming more attached to the characters and actually caring about their well being. Together they were a highly erotic couple in a sexually charged atmosphere. To me, it seemed like this book was based solely on sex but as I continued to read the story, I found the book to focus more on the relationship than the actual sex. I enjoyed understanding the emotional bonds that both Nina and Vince had toward each other.
In my opinion, Jillian Hallowell did and outstanding writing job on Lace, Lust and Liars. I enjoyed the twists and turns along the way and found the plot to be thrilling and intriguing. Lace, Lust and Lies included romance, sex, action and a great plot, everything I look for in a exciting story. If you are looking for a highly erotic read blended with action and romance, then this is the book for you.
