Kaden knows he's dying, but before he goes, he has one problem he needs to solve he must ask his oldest friend Seth to take over as his beloved wife's Dom and Master after his death. Seth has always seen himself as the perpetual screw up and Kaden as the strong and steady one, so his friend's request rocks his world. Now Seth finds himself immersed in a role he's far from comfortable with: inflicting pain to provide emotional comfort for the woman he's secretly loved for years. Can he deal with his crushing grief and learn the skills he must master in time to become THE RELUCTANT DOM?
As with many aspects of love and romance, BDSM has no hard and fast rules. One person’s kink is another’s vanilla. So how hot you find this book may depend on where you fall on the scale of what’s hot and what’s not.
That aside, I loved this book. Loved it. Yes, the sex was hot and ran the gauntlet from ministry to St. Andrew’s Cross, but what makes this book for me is the story. Even if all the sex was cut out, the story itself is still good. They are real characters, with real problems and real emotions about what is happening to them. Nothing is glazed over or sugar coated, and there are no last minute miracles.
I think my favorite part of this tale is Seth’s reaction to this new world that is thrust upon him. His almost constant discomfort at the beginning is hilarious. Once he does get past his initial shock, he finds his own way in a world so alien to him.
