Brenna Thorne is a clutzy but cute would-be witch who moves in next door to Rand. Men always think of Brenna like a sister. They never see her as girlfriend or mate material. Brenna longs for a man of her own who sees her sexy side and all the love she has to give.

A little magic from Rand's godparents, a familiar who isn't a familiar, and a host of well-meaning but surprising friends help Rand and Brenna see that all you need to find your mate is a heart that is open to love.


When I picked this up to review I was thinking it would be just a light sweet read but these pages sizzled. The love scenes are well detailed and steamy and the characters are very interesting. There are so many here I would love to know more about. Rand's Guardian Ian to name only one caught my attention in particular and I hope that Ms. Valentine has plans to detail this vampire's story. I was very disappointed when I reached the end because there is clearly more to Brenna and Rand's story that I would love to see. In The Wise Guy you are given a glimpse of this world of witches and mages and I certainly wish to see more. So go ahead and pick this one up, you won't regret it.
