Review - Lust in Space by Lisa Lane
Title: Lust in Space
Author: Lisa Lane
Publisher: Ravenous Romance
Rating: You Could Read

Captain Nora Bradley has full intention of keeping her relationship with former classmate, and now First Officer, Robert Smith, purely professional. When she hires him, the two, along with a crew of top professionals in their fields, embark on a journey into regions of space not yet charted. Along the way, the crew endures a space flu that puts the entire ship in a fevered frenzy, alien races that change the crews' perceptions of size, compatibility, and companionship, and hitchhiking shape shifters that will do just about anything to keep their sensuous human forms. As the crew endures, Nora and Robert can't help but profess their love for one another . . . but can their love survive a mix up with the shape shifters, the unexpected takeover of their ship, and intergalactic war?
It’s hard to call this a romance, more like if Star Trek: Voyager as a soft core porn. Every chapter a new alien race is encountered and body fluids are exchanged.
The aforementioned romance between Nora and Robert is little more then a brief footnote in the opening chapter, that is promptly pushed to the back burner in favor of casual encounters among the rest of the crew. When the story finally loops back around, there is little romance, but plenty of sex.
The story itself is unremarkable, when ever it is even present. This story isn’t a romance, it’s erotica. And in and of itself, that’s fine. But it ends up reading like a low budget skin flick, where a weak story serves as a bridge between sex scenes.
