Mail-order bride Minda Becker arrives in Paradise, Nebraska and eagerly marries the handsome man who meets her stagecoach. His wedding kiss melts her toes. Too bad he's the wrong bridegroom. Having honored his brother's deathbed request to marry Minda, Cowboy Brixton Haynes can't deny he'd like a wedding night with the eastern beauty. But the last thing he needs is to be saddled with a wife and the three children his brother left behind. First chance he gets, he'll be back point riding along the Goodnight. But leaving Minda proves to be harder than he expected.
This book has good characters and moves along well. If you like western romances you will like this story of love, family, adventure, evil gangs, and a good horse race. Minda, while she is a strong woman, admits to not being able to be on her own with the 3 kids. I like that the author made Minda strong, yet vulnerable. Brixton has honor and good looks, but struggles with wanting to stay and be a family man instead of roaming free. I also like it when the other woman or man comes back in the picture, and the person has to realize what they've wanted along. This is a good summer beach read!
