Mollie Fenwick is a 32-year-old widow who has started having premonitions since her husband’s death. She is completely freaked out by the weird premonitions especially when she sees a murder about to happen. Things couldn’t get worse, could they? Yes especially when she finds that the murder she saw happened in her apartment. Mollie’s world is thrown into turmoil and with the help of Bartholomew, her hunky next-door neighbour who also happens to be a detective and Wolf a Mohawk Indian who happens to be a retired Special Forces officer; she is running in and out of trouble. Her life is in danger, will she find out who the killer is before they find her and kill her?
I loved this book. It comes across as a funny cozy mystery. The first chapter had me giggling in my seat. Mollie is thrown from one disaster to another and to begin with you have to laugh at her antics. Admirers desperate to whisk her off her feet surround her. The story gets more serious as the plot moves on and you find yourself wanting to take Mollie home and lock her in a cupboard, just so she can have a breather from all the violence sent her way.
The characters are well written and you cannot help but fall for the bossy but beautiful Bartholomew. He is definitely one to sweep you off your feet.
The plot thickens as the story unfolds and you are left completely in the dark until the very end as to who murdered the woman in Mollie’s apartment and who wants Mollie dead. There were so many twists and turns in the story you will never guess the ending.
The chapters often end on cliffhangers, leaving you desperate for more. Mollie is really put through mill and comes out fighting after every problem that comes her way.
You have to read this book. It is funny, full of life, thrilling and just plain unputdownable.
