Killer Chevy Bankes is a master of disguise, and just paroled, he's coming after the woman who sent him to jail, the beautiful antiques expert Beth Denison. Neil Sheridan gave up his FBI shield five years ago, but his best friend Rick, a cop, pulls him in as a consultant on a case involving a serial killer. The investigation leads Neil to Beth's doorstep. Neil is the only one who can get through Beth's defenses and, as they grow closer, discover the secrets that Beth is hiding about her fateful night with Chevy.
Where do you begin a review when you can find no faults or anything that needs to be changed in your opinion. For author, Kate Brady, her debut novel has got to be a smash hit.
This book is packed full of drama, suspense, and just a touch of romance. The pace is set at one speed throughout the book and that is fast. You had better prepare yourself for an all night reading feast because once you get started you won't stop til the last page is read. It doesn't end with just a fast paced plot. It is only the beginning. You have characters that are so well developed you can actually see everything happening like on a movie screen. You will become invested in their past history, as well as, what is happening now to them. What I enjoyed most was the dialogue between characters, Neil and Beth. The way they spoke with each other from the beginning, you knew there was going to be some healing for each of them.
I will stop my review here and just say GO BUY THIS BOOK. I can't wait for her next release, 'Last To Die', which won't be out til July 2010. It has already been added to my to buy list. You will not be disappointed picking up this book.
