Alexander Diamond returns to Toronto to attend his father’s 80th birthday party. Having walked away from the family fortune years ago, Alex is considered an outcast and is careful to keep his distance. Leigh Ann Percival is Edward Diamond’s long-suffering administrative assistant. On top of trying to please the old man, she finds herself dodging the attention of Maxwell Diamond. The youngest of Edward’s sons was relentless in his pursuit, driving Leigh to make a very big mistake. When she finds herself fired, Alex quickly asks her to take a position at his ranch in Manitoba. Leigh thinks the position is that of the ranch administrator. But Alex has something completely different in mind.
Alex Diamond is back in town for the celebration of his father's birthday. When he turned down the family business years ago and left his hometown penniless, he had been determined to make his own way. Owner of a multimillion dollar cattle ranch, he's still treated as the outcast farmboy. When Leigh, his father's admin, asks him a heated question- in a bid to escape a younger Diamond brother- he begins to wonder if he should take her at her word, literally.
It seemed like a good plan in the beginning, but Leigh never thought Alex would take her up on her offer. After a wild night with Alex, she's found herself without a job for letting her boss' much younger wife out of her sight. Can she take over as his admin and still win this playboy's heart? Ms. Hunter creates stunning imagery and drama, easily going from lavish parties to cow stalls filled with the sights and smells of laboring animals. I found myself surprised at every turn. A wonderful read, hot and stunning!
