A horrible death, an even bigger mistake by the gods of Ancient Egypt, a modern day woman is trapped in a life not her own, but even in death beginnings can happen. Will this be the beginning or the end for Victoria?

Victoria is fighting for her life against her husband Neil. Just as he is striking the final crushing blow to end her life, she slips into darkness. Is she dead? Finally, murdered by her abuser? No, she hears chanting in an ancient tongue that strangely she is able to understand.

Victoria wakes to find herself in the body of an Egyptian royal Mayati, deceased wife of Khamehet. She can still hear Neil screaming at her, but survival wins out against the voices in her head. Slowly she learns to aclimate to her new body and begins to heal. But Mayati's spirit isn't ready to rest yet, and torments her with heated memories of Khamehet. Will she find escape and a new life in Ancient Egypt or return to her broken body in the present?

Absolutely wonderful vivid imagery! I wanted to cry for all Victoria had to go through, and all Khamehet suffered at Mayati's hands. It's nice to know they both got their happy ever after.

  1. Great read, I love her work. Another favorite is Jennifer's History Lessons.
