As a hair stylist, Ansley has seen and cut a lot of people's hair, but when Roxie shows up for her appointment with a very large, gorgeous man, Ansley can't take her eyes off him. Nor can she stop her body's reaction to Roan when Roxie asks her to cut his hair as well. But things seem to go steadily downhill when Ansley's curse, her ability to say the first thing that comes to mind when around a man she is attracted to, rears its ugly head. When Roan growls at her to hurry up, Ansley knows her mouth has done it to her again.
Even through the harsh chemical smells in the hair salon, Ansley's scent is like a punch in the gut to Roan. Knowing she is his mate, and a mortal, has him fighting the urge to claim her as his own. Hoping to ease into telling her he is a werewolf, Roan prays he has the control to take things slow. But when it comes to Ansley, he must fight the wolf inside him or risk scaring away the one woman that was meant for him.
When a werewolf meets his or her mate there is nothing that can stop the mating urge. On a chance trip with Roxie to the hair salon Roan ends up meeting his mate. Only one problem that is standing in his way is that his mate Ansley is a mortal. Now not only does he have to lay claim to his mate but he must also explain to her just what he is. As Ansley begins to cut Roans hair she does what she always does when she is attracted to a man. She puts her foot in her mouth and she realizes she’s done it again when Roan tells her to hurry up and finish. As the two begin to get to know each other Roan tries to control his mating urges. He must find a way to tell Ansley about himself and what he is. Will the bond that they are forming be enough or will Ansley be afraid of him and deny him? I loved this couple they were so great together. Roan proves just what an alpha male he can be and Ansley is a great spirited and loving heroine. The scene where Roan takes Ansley show up at Roxies doorstep for her help was a hoot and the interaction between all the brothers in the house was just as good. I loved this book and cannot wait to see who is next in this series. Marisa Chenery weaves a great tale, keeping the reader entranced to the end. This is definitely a not to be missed book. Once I started this story I could not stop reading until the last page. I will be on the look out for more from this author as well as going back and getting any of the earlier books I missed from this series.
