Bethany King is a successful marketing executive who has worked hard to make it to the top. She just landed an account that will change her career forever. If only she didn't have to work with rival, Garrett Myers. Forget how incredibly gorgeous he is. For months, the man has brown-nosed his way into everyone's heart, including her boss's, so when he's assigned to help with her pet project, she is indignant.

Besides her relationship with God, the one thing that mellows Bethany is her friendship with her neighbor's little girl, Lilly. When tragedy threatens to take the girl away, Bethany will have to learn to swallow her pride and turn to the man she's called enemy for so long.

This is an especially sweet morsel!

Bethany and Garrett are coworkers who misjudged each other’s characters and motives until they are required to work on a project together. Bethany helps baby sits her neighbor’s young asthmatic daughter, Lilly. Lilly has brightened Bethany’s lonely life and made her realize that there is more to life than work.

Lilly prepares to plant a garden planter and asks Bethany to help. Bethany has to work on the project with Garrett so she has to put off helping with the planter. Bethany is stunned when tragedy strikes. But Garrett helps her to see hope and renewal through her grief.

This quick, short story will bring tears to your eyes and a sweet hope and peace to your heart. My only disappointment was that is wasn’t longer and I would love to read a full work by Ms. Mendoza.
