Werewolf Sarah Vargas thought all she had to worry about was the Blood Moon Corporation's retaliation. She never dreamed that another vampire would arrive, disputing Damian's claim over the throne to Charleston, SC. To make matters worse, he is no ordinary vamp; he's a vampire necromancer. He's exceptionally hard to kill, and Sarah will have to do what ever she can to keep those that she loves safe... Even if it means doing the unthinkable.

Malevolent Dead picks up shortly after where Fade to Black left off. Now living within the luxurious setting of born vampire Damian's club, Sarah and Jared have reached a breaking point in their relationship. Jared must return to the corporation, in spite of his love for Sarah. Believing their can be no permanence for them, he chooses to break things off with her and spare her the misery of waiting for him.

Sarah is heartsick over Jared, but she can't afford to sit around and mourn their relationship. Damian needs her help to stop another vampire. His request? Pretend to be his dead wife Phaedra. Sarah's resemblance to her is uncanny and just might be enough to fool the necromancer. There's just one little snag. She must drink Damian's blood to mask her inner werewolf. With her heart breaking, Donavan's clan in danger, can she resist her strange attraction to the born vampire?

Sarah reaches out, grabs hold and drags you through the story with her. Non stop suspense, scorching hot love, or is it lust, scenes and enough paranormal nasties to keep you away from the cemetery permanently make this book one you've gotta read. I can't wait to see where Ms. Kuehl takes us in the last book of her Sarah Vargas series. Will she get her happy ever after? And if so, will she choose Jared or Damian? Guess we'll have to read book three to find out.
