Review:
Whew, is it hot in here, or is it just me? I've waited a long time for the newest in the Sports Wives series to come out and finally, here it is! After meeting the man of her dreams, Suzy is devastated when Marco dies and the one man she doesn't think she can handle laying eyes on is everywhere, his twin brother. I personally could not imagine having someone I love die and then having to face his twin brother so I can understand how Suzy feels when the relationship comes to a sizzling crescendo and the sparks between the two cannot be ignored any longer. Then watch out because there is a HUGE twist in the story that I totally didn't see coming. OUTSTANDING! What is Suzy going to do when approached with a decision about something she has secretly wanted? You don't want to miss Love's Unselfish Gift, it's a scorcher!

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Destiny Blaine and have been waiting for the next installment in the Sports Wives series. With every book I fall more in love with the multi layered and lovable characters. Ms. Blaine has a gift of bringing real emotions to an erotic story, which makes the characters very relatable. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a very erotic romance. I really do need to note that this book includes M/F/M, May-December, BDSM, sex toys. Ms. Blaine, once again, you killed it with this book! I love seeing what you come up with next!

Here is a list of the Sports Wives series books in order:
Love, Lust and Scandal in Professional Football (Book 1)
Lust Knows No Boundaries (Book 2)
Sexy is Never Ignored (Book 3)
Damaged Good (Book 4)
Love's Unselfish Gift
Although these books are a part of a series, they can easily be read as stand alone books. Enough of the history is provided for you to understand what's going on but trust me when I say, you GOTTA read them all.

Anne Jenkins never believed there was a heaven or hell, so when she’s rescued from a runaway horse by a guy who claims he’s a demon, her freak detector goes off. She demands proof, and the leather-clad biker sets some local wildlife on fire. She starts to trust in a hurry.

Gregg Carter, bound to the Devil for all eternity because of an audit gone wrong, seizes the opportunity to take possession of Anne’s soul as a way to please his boss. What he didn’t count on was the fact that his libido would take the one-way bus to crazy town as he gets to know her better.

Trouble is, Anne and Gregg spend so much time trying to hide their true selves from each other, they can’t escape the attraction that builds between them. But everyone knows demons and humans don’t mix, and neither can two people who have no futures.

Anne doesn't believe in Hell, mainly because of the constant Bible-thumping of the grandma that raised her. She's about to get a rude awakening in the form of demon and IRS auditor (that makes me laugh every time) Gregg. While on a photo shoot for her friends, one a romance author, the other a cover artist, she loses control of her horse and heads straight for a ravine. Calling out for help, she is saved by demon Gregg. She must sign over her soul for his assistance or plunge to her death. Die now or live it up for thirty days, then go to Hell. Oh, and she also has three wishes.

I loved the flow of this story and the characters, especially grandma were hilarious even when serious. Gregg does his best to find Anne's weakness so he can turn over her soul faster before he falls head over heels. Anne's weakness, stilettos and a certain demon. Sandra Sookoo's Demons and Stilettos are a Girl's Best Friend promises laughter, steamy love scenes and a whipcord smart heroine that will have you rooting for her to the end, making this one you gotta read.

Jessie Nelson has been telling herself she doesn't deserve or believe in second chances, especially when it comes to love...until her white rainbow appears in a corporate pirate who conquers her, heart and soul.

I enjoyed the first five books in this series and this one is my favorite: full of hope and emotion!

I was prepared to struggle to like Jessie based upon her very selfish and self absorbed behaviors from the prior books. How does Ms. Wiesner turn Jessie into a character that could be liked and embraced? By showing that God finds us worthy even in the depths of our sin. Where there is love there is hope to become a new creature.

The hero has his own bitterness and revenge issues. Flint has set into motion actions that could destroy Jessie’s business. When he finally gets to talk to Jessie they both realize they were blaming the wrong person (each other) for their childhood struggles. Flint wants to figure out a way to stop the destructive process he put in motion. Can he do that before Jessie finds out and he loses any chance with her? And when Jessie remembers the trauma of her childhood, which has been the basis of her own self destructive behavior, how will she cope with that revelation?

One very awesome part of this book is that the author gives interpretations of what many would call “Christian platitudes”. Here are a couple of examples:
‘God moves in mysterious ways’ means ‘I don’t know what the heck just happened’. ‘I’ll pray for you’ means ‘I don’t know how else to help you but I know Someone else who can’.

The emotion that Ms. Wiesner evokes is truly engaging. She has created characters that you root for and you care about. You want to know what happens to each character and of course you are glad when they overcome obstacles to reach a happy ending. This last book of the series is inspirational, but is not preachy. It very smoothly includes in the plot and character interaction a message of hope and second chances.

This is a lovely and uplifting story that will cheer your heart. Although this can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend that you read Reluctant Hearts, the first Book in the Wounded Warriors series so you meet all of the characters. Jessie also plays a big part in the second book, Waiting for an Eclipse.

Now that I have read all of this series I am ready to read more books by Ms. Wiesner. Her writing style is full and rich; it enhances the well developed, emotional characters and the deeply engaging plots.

When Henry — youngest son of the Duke of Frostmire and Thomas's roommate — is called home to fight raiders, Thomas expects to have a quiet year at the Royal Academy.

Instead, Eileen arrives at his doorstep, having run away to come to the Academy, and Henry returns telling stories of an enemy that uses magic. Even as Thomas agrees to help, new threats rise around them, driving them from the city to face an unknown enemy in the north.

And the Church of the High Father has not forgiven them either.

A good story must have believable characters, a vivid world, a strong plot, and writing that has both flows and illuminates the world. But having all these things will not get a story a Gotta Read. For the highest rating, a story must be more then the sum of its parts. It mut be captivating.

This story is by far one of the best I’ve had the pleasure to review. Thomas is larger than life without being overblown. I feel for him as he suffers through his trials, I worry with him about the safety of those around him, and I feel a great satisfaction as he overcomes.

The plot is all smoke a mirrors, making sure the villain stayed close to vest until the very end. There are so many people spying on and backstabbing each other, it feels like a very real political area; and in this case, politics is a blood sport.

I cannot recommend this book enough. I hope there are more to come in this series and will be picking up a copy of the first book in the near future.

Kate hadn't been just the girl next door. She'd been Mick's life, and he hers. When an unforeseen force drives them apart they're left with wounds that refuse to heal.
Now, ten years on, Mick's father's will should have been straightforward, except his addendum was like ice water in Mick's face. It's essential Mick and Kate work together to save his family's farm. He doesn't count on his new manager being accused of murder, and she doesn't expect a dangerously seductive woman from Dublin claiming Mick is the father of her child.

Kate thought she was falling in love with Mick all over again, but this newest revelation is too much for her. She is determined to say goodbye to her childhood sweetheart forever, but Mick has other plans for her future. And none of them involve goodbye.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. I was really unsure about Mick's attitude towards his family, until I really thought about the way mine has been towards mine sometimes. Sometimes things happen. I think his change of heart was even sweeter, because you see him evolve through Kate's love and the stories about his parents. I also think having Flann and Gobnait in the story really added depth to the story. The main characters had to overcome some obstacles, so that made their love even more special. They also had to overcome past hurts when they were younger. I just loved Kate. I love Irish women- strong and independent with the ability to love deeply. Of course most women are like that. I loved the Ms. Shortland provided after the wedding information. I liked being part of the closure and the exciting news. Such a great ending to a rocky start story.

Kerry Warner did what she had to do. It was a difficult choice, but it was best for her daughter. Wasn't it? For twenty years, she has silently lived with the truth. Now, as her daughter's wedding nears, her past screams for her attention.

Janessa Warner has just finished college and is looking forward to marrying Garrett. Hours after a visit to his hometown begins, a horrifying car accident alters their plans. Janessa comes face-to-face with a woman from her mother's past. The very foundation of her life is shaken. Her search for answers only leads to more questions. Can God put the shattered pieces of her life back together and bring healing to her family? Or has He really abandoned her?

Janessa Warner has everything a woman could dream for, a college degree, wonderful family and a loving fiance. With Garrett intent on going to law school near his hometown, Janessa also decides to find a job in her field near Jackson, Michigan. A decision that may ultimately destroy all she knows. A car accident leaves Janessa will a long road of healing and leaning on others, but can her faith in God guide her on the path to peace?

Shattered is the story of a young woman on the brink of her future. Both she and Garrett, in fact all of the characters, are grounded in their faith in God. My heart broke for Janessa when she discovered her past, for her fathers, who both gained and lost their daughter and for her mother who truly belived what she did was right. I like how the author didn't try to excuse Kerri Warner's actions, but instead allowed her to deal with the consequences and renew her faith. Raw emotion radiates from this book, so don't expect to read it without shedding tears. You won't be able to help yourself. Rarely does a book affect me in such a way. Shattered misses the "Gotta Read' rating only because I have to take into account the editing which could be cleaner. In any case, Ms. McMonigal is a promising talent you are sure to enjoy reading.

Could their passion be the key to freeing Rion's people? Only if he and Marisa can discover how to channel their desire . . . before a vicious enemy destroys them all.

King Arthur and the Holy Grail can be an overused and misused concept, so it was refreshing to read Sue Kearney's Rion and find an author who in trying something new and innovative, actually succeeded beyond my expectations. Rather than the tried and true historical, by adding a paranormal/sci-fi slant Ms. Kearney has made her series a little more interesting than the norm and something truly worthy. While I did not read the first book in the series, to my surprise I found Rion to be easy to follow and a true delight. The author gave enough background on the legend and this book that I did not feel lost, therefore I really did not find it necessary to read the first book, Lucan, beforehand (although I must admit that I did purchase it after reading Rion!)

The plot is highly entertaining, with engaging characters, action, romance, a great plot and excellent dialogue. I enjoyed the story, and found it very innovative with nice touches that hark back to the Arthurian/Pendragon legend of old and Ms. Kearney's revised version of the tale. I also like how she added descriptions of familiar sites like Stonehenge and other locales related to the legend to make the book more familiar to the reader. I believe anyone would enjoy how the dragons are almost secondary characters, yet they are actually not, as our hero and heroine are dragon shifters themselves. Ms. Kearney is so careful in making sure all of her characters have distinct personalities and characteristics in each form. What a nice surprise to discover that the unique book with the refreshing plot, characters and dialogue iisactually part of an entertaining series, and that the story continues.

Kelly needs to get herself a fetish. A newly-converted vampire, she's quiet, conservative, and prone to panic attacks. When her friend drags her to a vampire fetish club, she meets Marcus, a walking manual on sexual pleasure. Marcus is captivating and dangerous and knows exactly what he wants. With a single-minded purpose, he scoops Kelly up from her abnormal, disillusioned life and shows her the pleasures of immortality. His obsession with her body knows no limits, and her desire only burns hotter every time he touches her. She drives him insane with the blinding need to hear her scream his name with absolute abandon. Marcus shows her the true world of vampires, which is more magical than Kelly had ever dreamed.

Should I admit to being so charmed by Deadly Fetishes that I re-read the book the very instant I finished it the first time? That this compulsion seldom occurs is a testament to how much I loved this book, and shows to what an extent the characters and the story mesmerized me - I essentially refused to put it down. Perhaps, this is because I am a romantic, and at its heart Deadly Fetishes is the essence of a true romance. At one point, Ms. McLeod uses the phase “black and blood Goth fairy tale” to describe Marcus and Kelly's courtship, and that is exactly what her story is, with all the sweet charm of a fairytale and the bite (pun intended) of the vampire romance it is intended to be.

Marcus and Kelly are the ultimate fairytale match, Goth couple or not: he is handsome, broody and noble, she is lovely, sweet, and seemingly naive. They are perfect for each other, with Kelly able to bring out his protective instincts while trying to be as independent as possible. Deadly Fetishes has all the sensuality and sexuality of a typical erotic tale, yet it has so much more depth, feeling and emotion than most novels. Yes, there is a happily ever after, this after all, a “fairytale” but we are given enough angst, action, fun and sex in the meantime to make it a worthwhile read from beginning to end.

If his mistress is missing, then who's the woman in the baron's bed?

When Baron Lenox's assignation with his mistress goes awry, he finds himself in bed with the wrong lady. The potential scandal leaves him with one option: marry the innocent mystery woman. But Isolde Perceval has no intention of marrying Lenox. In fact, she orchestrated the compromising situation herself-for reasons that are unpredictable, riotously romantic, and sexy as hell.

Susan Johnson is one of those authors who does not have to get better as time goes on, she's been good all along. After reading Sexy as Hell, I remembered why she's on my list of “to read” authors whenever they have a new release, this book is just that fantastic. Osmond “Oz” Lennox is such a hot character and so endearing, after finishing Sexy as Hell, I went looking for my backlist of Susan Johnson titles to re-read a few old favorites. One of the joys of reading this author's books is the individuality of her main characters, they are different from those of her contemporaries: highly complex, possessing a certain something that makes them more engaging than the typical historical hero. Ms. Johnson's men are braver, more dashing, more charismatic, handsomer, and of course, more sexy.

In counterpart, Isolde, is also a shade different from the usual historical heroine: beautiful, confidant, innocent yet assured in her sexuality and not vulgar or overt. For like a Susan Johnson novel, Isolde's sexuality is innate, something we as readers expect and take for granted. Naturally, Oz and Isolde are the perfect foil for each other, and produce sparks from their first meeting to the last. Everything about their encounters: the love scenes, the dialogue, the glances and touches are all beautifully and tastefully written. Added to the beauty of the relationship, the special attention Ms. Johnson pays to the other little details help to make the novel so successful. She is careful not to neglect the scenery, the dialogue or the secondary characters, using them to develop, progress and enhance her story. Reading Sexy as Hell illustrates exactly how talented an author Susan Johnson is, is it any wonder she's written another successful novel?

A DEMON ENSLAVED

Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master's assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister's life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.
AN ANGEL TEMPTED

Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side, sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She's determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary-even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.

Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again-one hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

That bad boy brother Lore returns in Ecstasy Unveiled and he is well worth the wait. I foolishly believed Ms. Ione could not get any better in terms of character development and storyline, and I just love being proved wrong. Somehow, Lore manages to be just as sensitive, handsome and strong as his brothers, with just a little something more that makes Idess and the readers want to believe in him and champion his cause. Let's face it, life has not been kind to him so far, it's time for a break. Reading this book was so good it “forced” me to re-read the others again to both revisit the series, and just to remind myself of the sheer entertainment of the prior books.

As to Ecstasy Unveiled, maybe Idess will be that saving grace for Lore. She is certainly his match in all other ways: strength, personality, physical beauty and integrity in perfect form. And when they come together the attraction is undeniable. Added to this, Ms. Ione writes love-scenes like few other authors can: with grace, lyricism and a deep sense of erotica all combined. She conveys her meaning with a minimum of words but such feeling! How could one not emphasize with, and absolutely love her characters? I highly recommend this book, it is beyond stunning!

Lucy Reed and Steve Fleming seem to have it all: a beautiful home they’re in the process of restoring, a loving relationship, and quite a sating sex life. Sure, mortgage payments and a few arguments are always around the corner, but no life can be perfect, right?

Maggi Anderson’s novelette was a quick read. Since it was fairly short she moved quickly through the story and I felt like it was much longer. She could have stretched the story out much longer but it was not necessary. She had romance, love, action, drama, and a happy ending. What more could you ask for. The heroine was not the traditional tough-as-nails, hardened, city woman taking on the bad guys. She was more like your friend who lived a nice life but nothing special or extraordinary about her. She acted out of fear and desperation to save the one she loved. Sweet read.

However, her real source of angst turns out to be Vic Deleona, the influential real estate tycoon she must write about to generate interest in the paper.

While she refuses to open herself to another painful relationship he attempts to court her. Seeing him as pompous, she nonetheless goes out of her way to maintain a good business association.

However, when her friend, Angie Jones, has a break-in at her condo and there’s a mysterious vandalism at Cammie’s unit, Vic comes to their rescue, Cammie sees his Christian side and love blossoms.

Although I really liked the story Gail Pallotta told I felt that she was too detailed unnecessarily. For example, when she referenced certain people Pallotta would repeat their names as well as an explanation as to who they were. In the paragraph where she identified her main character’s parents by name to the reader and then in a conversation to another character she stated they were her character’s parents and gave their names again. The sentence was uncomfortable to read. Repetitive. She also referenced bible scripture almost as an afterthought in many sentences. Most people who have read the bible remember the lesson but not usually the exact scripture and rarely reference it to themselves in the manner in which she wrote it. It felt uncomfortable to read as it did not flow with the rest of the paragraph. The story of Cammie O’Shea was sweet and thoughtful. I enjoyed her character and how she relied on God for the decisions she had to make and for the strength to make them. Pallotta did a good job of detailing her character’s faith and how that made her stronger individual.

A whirlwind romance amidst the natural splendor of Yosemite National Park.

A spur-of-the-moment wedding near Bridalveil Fall.

A young bride who awakens the morning after to find her new husband gone with the mountain wind.

Songbird Hannah Johns supports the child born of that ill-fated union by singing in a dinner lounge. Her dream of someday owning the elite establishment and turning it into a venue more suited to her Christian values is shattered when an unexpected transaction places it in the hands of Brock Ellis, the handsome biker who abandoned her in their honeymoon suite.

Ensuing sparks fly high, revealing buried secrets and forgotten pasts. Seeking to find peace with her painful past, Hannah returns to Yosemite, and Brock follows hard on her heels. Back where it all began, she finds herself in danger of losing her heart yet again to the man who shattered it the first time around.

This story grabs your attention and doesn’t let go!

Hannah is a dedicated singer at a dinner lounge. She dreams of saving her money to buy the lounge from her beloved, “fatherly” boss, Kip, and turn it into a Christian bookstore and coffee shop. That is hard to do as she struggles to raise her three year old son as a single mother.

Her dreams are shattered when Kip tells her he is selling out because of his deteriorating health. That is tough enough to take but becomes even harder when she discovers the buyer is Brock, the man who walked out of her live three years before after their wedding night. Add insult to injury when Brock shows absolutely no recognition of Hannah.

Brock is handsome and protective, if a bit overbearing. He is completely puzzled by Hannah’s antagonism towards him but still drawn to her and her impishly sweet son with whom he strikes up a quick friendship.
Hannah keeps her secrets out of pride and Brock hides his secrets for other reasons. The repartee and dance between them is engaging and endearing! Hannah struggles to allow her Christian faith to govern her actions rather than be controlled by her anger and resentment. Can she get past her hurt and open her heart to learn the truth and give healing forgiveness? Can Brock allow himself to heal from his injuries and discover the past he has lost?

The Yellowstone scenery is described exquisitely so that you want to go visit the setting! The supporting characters have enough depth to add to the story without distracting or detracting from the main protagonists.

The story moves along quickly as you wait to see how God will work things out for these two characters. Hannah’s steadfast faith, even laced with some natural doubt and human struggles, is wonderful to read. The romance that is revealed is warm and beautiful. This is just a superb story and I have added Ms. Latham to my “must read” author list!

Her devastating marriage behind her, Raylene Hammond is truly thankful for her best friends, the Sweet Magnolias. They’ve taken her in, shielding her from the world. Then she meets sheriff’s deputy Carter Rollins, and suddenly Raylene’s haven no longer feels quite so safe.
Carter understands why Raylene is trapped inside. He’s even taken to bringing the outside world to her. But with two kid sisters to raise, just how much time can he devote to this woman who's stolen his heart?
Raylene knows Carter is a man worth loving, but she may never be strong enough to accept what he’s offering. How long can she ask him to wait? Maybe they’ll never have more than this one sweet summer.

Review:
I fell in love with this book within the first few pages. Raylene's character was complex, emotional and strong. She faced issues with integrity while trying to help those around her. The relationship between Raylene and Carter was breathtaking. He was incredibly patient with her and was everything I look for in a romantic hero. The friendship between the Sweet Magnolia's was what we are look for I believe. They were funny (especially on Margarita night), supportive and wouldn't take no for an answer, I don't want to give away any of the book but loved the ending!

Honeysuckle Summer was an outstanding read! Covering everything from agoraphobia to domestic abuse, there was not a dull moment. I would have thought that covering so many issues in one book would be overpowering but it truly wasn't. Ms. Woods did an extraordinary job of weaving complicated issues with understanding and excellent factual information. This is the second book I have read in The Sweet Magnolia's series and I must go back and buy the rest. These are definitely "not to be missed" books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read about strong friendships, love and a whole lot of humor.

Honeysuckle Summer is #7 in the Sweet Magnolia series. I am listing the books in the series in order because I KNOW you will want to catch the other books in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone book and references relationships from previous books. Ms. Woods always gives you enough information on the back history to know what is going on. Happy Reading!

Prince Rio of Knight Watch's mission is to visit London, to retrieve the Lady's Book of Knowledge. He encounters Humans for the first time and his life freefalls into chaos. Torn between his love for a magnificent Fae male and an unusual Human female, he must complete his task or fall foul of Nox, King of the Faerie.

Rio is a Pride male and a prince of the Knight Watch. He is the one sent to retrieve the magical relic The Lady’s Book of Knowledge. He must go to London and find those responsible for the theft. All things point to a young female as the culprit but things are not always as they seem. Rio finds himself torn between the young woman and a male Fae that he loves. Can he sort it all out before the Druiks turn the humans against them? Will Rio find true love or will he let it fall through his grasp?

This book had me from the first page. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and this book does not disappoint. Rio is a great Alpha. He is strong and edgy yet he has a heart and would sacrifice everything for his love. Aria is a young and confused woman who takes everything in stride. She has spirit and spunk in spades. Constantly fighting for herself against all the odds. Last but not least the last character in this love triangle is Tanz the wonderful Fae. He is not only gorgeous but loves to a fault. The three make a wonderful triad. Each plays off of the other very well. The love that they share shines through the pages. As they figure out the mystery of the theft they must also figure out their feelings for each other. Add in the king of the Faerie; Nox and you have quite the adventure.

I enjoyed this story a lot; it was well written and fast paced. Keeping the readers attention from the start to finish. It is part of a series but you can read it as a stand-alone and not be lost. H. C. Brown brings the reader into the world of shifters with this book and takes you for a wonderful ride. I am eagerly awaiting the next in this series.

Mina knows that after several years with her vanilla husband she's never going to get the hot and heady sexual experiences she craves unless she looks elsewhere. During their divorce Mina is willing to risk everything for a heart pounding, head exploding orgasm. She embarks on a sexual journey of self fulfillment and submission that could only play out in her wildest fantasies. There is no turning back.

This story is scary. And not in the monster-under-your-bed sort of way. I realize that some woman have rape fantasies, and to an extent I understand the psychology behind it. But this story misses the point in that neither the character nor the reader know it is a fantasy. Being chloroformed, tied down, and whipped by an unknown stranger just doesn’t get my engine going.

Furthermore, the writing is erratic. Maybe it is the first person point of view, but there is no continuity. Subjects bounce around at seeming random intervals, making the plot hard to follow even in such a short story.

Overall, I have trouble recommending this story. It’s creepy in all the wrong ways.

Marianne and Simon have been more than friends since they were kids, but when she meets Mark her whole life changes. It's not easy being spanked when you're not used to it, but although the two men in her life are rivals the one thing they agree on firmly is that Marianne needs her wild side taming. And once she's had a taste of what that kind of life can offer, she's no longer sure she wants to argue. She loves them both and means to have it all, but Mark is not the kind of man to share. He breaks the triangle and makes her choose, but at a cost to everyone - himself included. Can Sophie save the day? She isn't beautiful and dazzling like Marianne, and the special qualities she has aren't on the surface. Sophie is a quiet girl who accepts Simon's discipline with absolute humility and never one word of complaint. It's how she wants her world to be, and her love for him goes past all limits. Shy and gentle though she is, perhaps her resolve to heal two broken hearts will prove to be more powerful than all Mark's dominance and strength...

Warnings: This title contains bdsm, explicit sex, and a small amount of graphic language.

Best friends Simon and Marianne have a great relationship. He has always loved her yet she is forever in search of love elsewhere. When Marianne meets Mark she thinks she has met THE one but his idea of obedience in their relationship throws Marianne for a loop and she runs back to Simon. Simon shows her that is all can be part of a loving relationship and off she scampers back to Mark. After which Marianne is told not to see Simon anymore who in turn finds himself a girl of his own. Can Marianne stay away from her best friend forever or will she come back to him?

This story revolves around Marianne and Simon’s relationship. He is so in love with her but knows that they can only ever be friends. Simon lets Marianne rule his world to a point that when she leaves he starts to waste away from a broken heart. He finds himself a young naive girl and makes her his slave and when Marianne comes to see him and says goodbye he begins to waste away leaving his girl Sophie adrift and wanting. Sophie must make things right but also to remember her place.

I am sorry to say that I did not enjoy this book very much. The story is supposed to have a lot of emotion but I could not feel it. I was not pulled into this author’s world at all. It seems to me that the author does not understand the BDSM world or is writing what they think it should be not what it is. While the storyline was plausible the actual writing left much to be desired. The characters lacked depth and the emotion written was not felt for me. This author seems to enjoy making his main focus spoiled woman who have everyone falling over themselves just to be near them. I am sure there are those that may enjoy this book but it just did not do it for me.

Having shed himself of a fiancée he’d never met, he’s home to lick his wounds. The only thing he wants is a warm-blooded meal—but the new housekeeper is strangely insistent on giving him much more.

I liked this story because it was just a lot of fun. The heroine is bright and quick-witted, while still maintaining her innocence. The hero is honorable and brave, while still keeping the heroine on her toes. The villain is a little lack luster and the plot a bit thin, but for such a short story, they work.

What keeps this from being a Gotta read is several inconsistency in the writing. In one example the hero gets dressed, transforms, and then must dress again.

Overall, a wonderful story that just needs a bit of polish to make it perfect.

Mae Southall is an independent woman who is not above breaking the rules if it suits her. She relies on no one but herself. Sex is fine but on her terms. When she meets the darkly handsome and mysterious Rob, Mae learns that sexual submission has its benefits.

Robert Parker is Mae’s new boss. She just doesn’t realize it yet. He has a few rules of his own. The first one is that he’s in control when it comes to sex. Her mind may be her own but her body is his to do with as he wishes. He requires her total surrender to him.

Office worker Mae Southall is not sticking around to see the new owner of the company she works for. On her way out the door she bumps into a handsome man who seems just as attracted to her as she is to him. Little does she know that he is the very man she has just run from meeting. Once Robert gets Mae to trust him he shows her how dominant a man can be but Mae is too independent to let a man do that to her. Can Robert show Mae that it is ok to like being dominated by a man or will she run from him and her true feelings?

Mae is a very strong woman who finds out that she enjoys the Dom and Sub relationship between a man and a woman but has been brought up thinking it is wrong to let a man take over like that. She goes through many emotions as she tries to figure things out. Robert can be a caring Dom at times but he was very arrogant and pushy for most of the book. I really enjoyed the storyline but did not care for Robert. I enjoy my characters with a bit more heart than Robert showed and a bit less of the arrogance. Mae was a great character. She is a modern woman who has to reconcile her wants and desires with today’s moral attitudes. Her inner turmoil was a good read and made the story more plausible. I have to comment on the point of Mae not being stick thin as many of the woman and characters are lately. I commend this author for allowing Mae to be a woman with a little meat on her bones and having the men especially Robert enjoy a woman who has something to them.

Penn Halligan does a good job of bringing you into the story and keeping you there until the end. This book was well written and fast paced. If you enjoy a quick and hot read about love and lust you should definitely check this story out.

This liaison causes her to realize what she is missing. Yearning for a storybook ending, she decides to make changes in her life, embarking on a quest for self re-invention in this hilarious, witty, heart felt story.

Review:
With all the serious books that I read, Size 0 in a Size 8 world was one that I was ready for. Lindsey, the main character, was so much like me it was pitiful. In this day we are told that being smaller is better and because of that, we find that we are constantly dieting and are not quite good enough. After reading this book I say, nonsense! I enjoyed watching Lindsey become a person who flourished into the woman that she was meant to be, a vibrant woman with curves and a backbone. Lindsey was a woman who took care of everyone else but herself. When she finally does start to take care of herself, her self confidence soars. "The man upstairs" was an excellent character to learn something from, which Lindsey finally did. Sometimes I wanted to say "Lindsey dahling, forget all of those who think you should be one way, you're perfect just the way you are!" I really enjoyed the ending which wrapped everything up rather quickly. I'd love to read a sequel to this book and find out how Lindsey is doing today. I recommend this book to all who love a little bit of chick lit and a whole lot of laughs.

Ms. Cagen writes with a dramatic yet humorous flair on problems that we face every day. This book really did have a Sex in the City feel to it and I enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to reading more books by Ms. Cagen in the very near future. You did an excellent job with this book Ms. Cagen and please know that I'll be looking out for the next book.

On the world of Terra Set, where the night is twice as long as the day and the moon more powerful than the sun, live the Star Mages. Essential to supporting the crops that feed the masses, they are protected men, revered, yet still mistrusted.

A ruthless king will stop at nothing to force Riena to take his son as mate. Her life and freedom depend on one challenge—hide as a man.

I like this story. The characters are all well crafted, the plot nicely thought out, and the world vivid. The politics between the mages and the farmers was very interesting, with each being dependent and antagonistic to the other.

That said, there is a feeling of conveyance to the story. There are many character who lack critical information while still having access to it, but show no interest in finding said information before going full steam ahead. As an example, Riena creates her entire opinion about the prince based on encounter with a thirteen year old boy who just had his pride wounded. Despite being given multiple chances to meet the man that boy became, she runs away.

Overall, I recommend this book. It is fun and interesting.

On My Knees is a lovely story of two people who lost each other in the day to day business of living and find each other again. Sadly, what he’s lacking is a girlfriend. On his first day at work he meets Catherine, and literally tumbles head over wings…from the sky that is.

Catherine is a skeptic regarding all things romance, but finds herself turned on by Cupid’s wings. The only thing holding her back from a happily ever after is herself.

Can Aaron convince the lovely loner to take a chance on romance with him, or will he be the only single Cupid in the history of the world?

Aaron Bernhardt finds himself sprouting wings as the new (sshh, unattached) cupid, a job he isn't qualified for and doesn't want. After all what does a batchelor with a less than stellar history of failed romances know about love? You might be surprised. Catherine Alicot is a sophisticated modern woman, more at home in corporate meetings than the sleepy atmosphere of Crystal Falls. A signature is all she needs to get moved into her new home, but nothing simple is ever easy, especially when Fate, Magic and Love conspire to give these two the chance neither knew they were looking for.

Adam thinks he's fine with that. He's a commitment-phobe. But he's about to discover, immortality is seriously the suck.

Review:

A gritty, dark and fun read, this tale by author AM Riley takes readers on a fast-paced Harley ride through the nastier side of Los Angeles with this fast-paced vampiric romp featuring vampires, outlaw motorcycle gangs and a whole lot of hot guy-on-guy action.

Adam’s the kind of unreliable narrator most of us would love to hate but his pluck more than makes up for his moments of gloomy introspection. Not much gets through to him at first and he copes admirably faced with his change into a creature of the night.

I must admit to sometimes feeling a bit lost at the twists, turns and double-crosses that take place but overall thoroughly lapped up the setting and the characters, who were all well-rounded and engaging, exactly the kind you’d hope to meet again at some point. AM Riley sets a blistering pace with this tale, never giving readers a chance to get too comfortable before changing the direction of the plot.

Expect a lot of carnage skillfully blended with enough well-realised human interaction to make this a worthy read.

He writes movingly of his brothers and their influence on him; his years of struggle in the wake of their deaths; his marriage to the woman who changed his life, Victoria Reggie Kennedy; his role in the major events of our time (from the civil rights movement to the election of Barack Obama); and how his recent diagnosis of a malignant brain tumor has given even greater urgency to his long crusade for improved health care for all Americans.

Written with warmth, wit, and grace, True Compass is Edward M. Kennedy's inspiring legacy to readers and to history.

Review:
I am a person who doesn't really mind reading about history but it wouldn't be one of my priorities. Add to that, when I see a book with the word Memoir next to it, it's even lower on my list. HOWEVER, True Compass didn't seem like either to me. It simply was one man telling his story with grace, humor and intelligence. I felt like it could have been my father or grandfather speaking to me. I haven't followed Edward Kennedy's political life very closely but while I was listening to this audiobook, I felt it was a shame that I hadn't. True Compass was not a book written to back up decisions made by anyone in the Kennedy family nor is it a book that makes excuses for any behavior. It is a matter of fact book that is easy to fall in love with. Ted's love for his wife tugs at the heartstrings and makes a very important impact on his life. I was not born in Ted Kennedy's era, more like his grandchildren but I learned so much of the Kennedy's, politics and how life actually was for him in his time. I highly recommend True Compass to anyone. It's a legacy that anyone should be proud to leave behind. Even if this type of book is one you would not normally pick up, I challenge you to read it. I know you will love it just as much as I did.

One by one, children of New York's wealthiest are taken hostage. But the criminal doesn't crave money or power--he only wants to ask the elite if they know the price others pay for their luxurious lifestyles. And, if they don't, he corrects their ignorance--by killing them.

To Detective Michael Bennett, it becomes clear that these murders are linked and must be part of a greater, more public demonstration. With the city thrown into chaos, he is forced to team up with FBI agent Emily Parker, and the two set out to capture the killer before he begins his most public lesson yet--a deadly message for the entire city to witness.

Review:
The Worst Case is seriously a book that will leave you with goosebumps. The serial killer is truly a delusional psycopath with notions that he can educate people on all that is wrong with the world. James Patterson gives you a glimpse into the serial killer's mind leaving haunting images of the lengths he will go to get what he wants. I was intrigued with the relationship between Mike Bennet and Emily Parker, the two lead detectives on the case. There was a little bit of sexual tension but not enough to think that something might actually come of it. The way they worked together though really captured my attention. It wasn't so much the good cop/bad cop angle that got to me, it was the way each knew what the other was thinking before they thought it. To make Emily Parker the detective that knew the most about forensics, also had me more interested in her character. The Worst Case was action packed and had me holding my breath at several moments through the story. I felt their emotion, anger and frustration as more and more children came up missing.

I received this book in the audio version and HIGHLY recommend you purchase it in this form. Read by Bobby Cannavale, Orlagh Cassidy and John Glover, it brought life to the story. I truly don't believe I would have enjoyed the book as much had it not been an audiobook. I have read a few James Patterson books and this one is the best so far, in my opinion. I look forward to reading the next book and I'm going back to buy the Mike Bennet books, he was the one character that I fell in love with. Outstanding job Mr. Patterson and Mr. Ledwidge, you are both writers with enormous talent.
