Meet Vivian. She's a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot-a dark, isolated Alaskan hideaway where visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.

Vivian knows the best performance requires perfect timing, but the powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Always cool-headed, Rafe hides the body, convinced that he and Vivian can find the culprit without disturbing their guests.

Juggling the increasingly outrageous demands of their customers while tracking a killer isn't easy. Will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets that Vivian would kill to protect?

Ages old master vampire Dria, better known as Vivian to her elite and unusual clientele, is content to run her inn in the wilds of Alaska where six months of darkness are a haven for vampires. While checking the rooms assigned to a powerful master and his seethe due to arrive shortly, Dria finds a body that is unaccounted for. With her ever present mate Rafe, Dria begins to uncover not only the circumstances of the murder, but a secret that may destroy everything she holds dear.

With a strong sexy heroine and steady hero, C.J. Ellisson's Rafe and Dria are reminiscent of Robb's Roarke and Eve, but with a dark spooky twist and no holds barred scorching hot love scenes. Supporting characters that are every bit as intriguing and deep as Dria aide in taking this steamy suspense novel to a surprising end. Vampire Vacation is a definite 'Gotta Read'.

  2. Great review and I totally agree! Viv is a super cool character and the novel has it all--drama, sex, and its even funny in parts as well.
