Shannon MacCready finds love in the notorious pirate, Patrick Flannigan. But Patrick cannot return her love, for fear she'll discover his dark secret…

As far as plots go, this one's pretty straightforward. A sassy Irish lass stows away aboard her pirate love's ship when he has to return to sea, only to run into complications that are beyond her control. For fear of spoilers I won't divulge the rest but the story had an interesting though far from earth-shattering premise.

The characterisation was fair. I didn't, however, feel as much connection to either Shannon or Patrick as I could have, but I enjoyed their interaction.

Overall, I feel this story could have had more detail. Granted, the author gives enough to move the plot forward and her writing is consistent, but lacked in layering. She tells a good story which keeps the pages turning, and puts out a delightful tale that reads quickly. The ending did feel a bit contrived, in my opinion, and I felt I wanted to see more internal conflict before the conclusion.
