When a sudden snowstorm unexpectedly gives her the afternoon off from school, all Carolyn Brooks intends is a night at home grading papers. But when her car slides off the road, Paul Anderson—the arrogant but gorgeous head of the English department—rescues her. He takes her to his home, and Carolyn finds herself drawn to this modern knight.

But Paul is sure the petite schoolteacher is too delicate for his particular desires. He’s not the White Knight she imagines…his tastes run much darker.

Publisher’s Note: Originally available in the Diamond Studs anthology.

On her way home in a powerful snowstorm Carolyn’s car ends up in a snow bank and stalled out. Another teacher: Paul comes to her rescue and brings her to his house to wait out the storm. Right from the start the attraction between Carolyn and Paul is there. The two must not only decide if they are going to act on that attraction but also if they will each share the secret desires that they are keeping to themselves.

Diamond In The Snow is an interesting read about self-awareness and discovery as it is about love. Paul and Carolyn are a perfect match for each other but both are afraid to let the other know about their desires that they hide from the rest of the world. Paul may be a Dom but because of a cruel woman in his past he believes that what he enjoys is wrong. Carolyn is a submissive and has finally come to terms with it but is still reluctant to let the men she is attracted to know this. Once the two finally let loose and enjoy themselves they make a hot couple. I really liked the way Carolyn stands up for herself and what she likes as well as watching her fight for Paul’s love.

I enjoyed watching Carolyn and Paul work through their demons. Although at times the writing became a little to sweet and poetic for me this story was a quick read and sweet read that many will enjoy.
