What would the Devil be willing to do to reclaim lost love?

Ex-cop Calli Hayward has been resurrected from the dead by the Lazarus Knights to defend mankind. When a creature like no other devises a plan to destroy humanity and repopulate the world with its own league, help comes from an unimaginable source—the disgraced Morning Star, Lucifer.

Betrayed by the one he loved and trusted, Lucifer must now work with the Knights to stop the impending destruction.

And Lucifer knows a secret about Calli that makes her the only Knight capable of preventing the devastation. If she succeeds, humanity will be saved. If she fails, she may be sealed forever in the void between earth and hell. With Lucifer.

Calli Hayward died in the line of duty as a Boston police officer. Now she is a Knight of Lazarus, a group of resurrected, worthy humans who have agreed to stay on earth and fight evil. Headed by the celestial Metatron, the voice of Grace, the group has existed since civilization began. Assigned to Salem, Massachusetts, along with her human Advocate, Mark Justin, Calli is on a mission to rid the city of otherworldly criminals. Activity begins to spike in the city, when something starts killing religious figures and stealing their artifacts. Amid a myriad cast of Fallen Angels and the other Knights and their Advocates, Calli and Mark must save mankind.

This was an extremely well researched work, but it is not a quick read. It took me a little time to get into the story because of the massive amount of information that had to be put forth. Once all the characters were on board and the scenario put forth, it flowed more smoothly. This book is a true mystery, in that the reader is left guessing up until the very last moment. The Blood of Saints offers a unique spin on traditional religious dogma that I found vastly entertaining. The characters and story were well thought out and intelligently presented.

Now for the good stuff. The sex was HOT, even a tad nasty. There were some sweet moments between Calli and Mark, but the majority of the scenes were molten. Calli thinks Mark is unavailable for most of the story, so….. a girl has needs, you know. The male contingent of the story, well, I wouldn’t kick any of them out of my bed, and Calli has some very difficult choices to make. This story has demons such as succubi and Fallen Angels, so everybody knows they're a horny lot. There are a lot of surprises thrown at the reader throughout the book, that will make you say “whoa, didn’t see that coming“. By the time the story comes to an end, the reader is absolutely immersed in this group of characters and ready for their next adventure. I hope there is one.
