Three hundred years can change many things, but love is not among them.
Forbidden to claim the woman he loves as his mate, Gabriel established a yearly meet with Jael to satisfy their hunger for one another. Time has not weathered their need, or made the pain of every other day more bearable. Christmas Eve together might not be much, but pretending for one night that they can belong together is the only way either knows how to survive.
Except this Christmas, Gabriel can't go on pretending. Living for one night is no way to live, and he is determined that he and Jael will see the new day together. The only question is, after all this time, is she prepared for the consequences of saying yes?
Review:
Gabriel had intended to mate Jael 300 years ago, but when she was struck down by scarlet fever, it was either turn her or watch her die. By law of the vampire ruling council it was forbidden for vampires to mate within the species, so Gabriel and Jael limited themselves to one night a year. Each Christmas eve, they met for a carnal reunion and to reaffirm their love. This year, Gabriel has had enough, and council be damned.
Dark Solace is a short glimpse into Rosalie Stanton’s expertise, paranormal erotica with a deep emotion pull. It is a rare find when you have very good erotica with an extremely compelling romantic bent. The reader is pulled into Gabriel’s and Jael’s despair at only being allowed one night a year. By the time their annual meeting rolls around their appetites are explosive and the resulting sexual encounters are off the charts. I love the fact that Gabriel is the one to say the hell with the council and asks for the official claiming. He is so in love he is not afraid of even permanent death. *sigh* The fact that Jael is the first to actually claim her mate also speaks volumes. This is really a very nice, spicy, little read.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review my work! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)
