Blurb:

Faina has been dead for one hundred and fifty years, but she’s about to become human again. All she has to do is seduce Jace Blackmon, the most honest financier ever to grace the city of angels, into signing away his soul.

Jace Blackmon has fallen in love with his fantasy woman. But when he realizes she was tricked by a demon to bring about his ruin, including the revelation of a long-buried secret to the media, he must choose between his heart or life without her.

Be Warned: light bondage, sex toys.

Review:

Jace Blackmon was the golden boy, above reproach and squeaky clean. Yet somehow he has managed to catch the eye of a demon overlord who covets his soul. Faina has been used as a corrupter and seducer of men for one hundred and fifty years. She has been promised freedom from service if she can land Jace’s immortal soul for her master Mastema. If she fails, she spends the rest of eternity as his personal slave, to be raped and tortured at his whim.

After a brief battle, I wound up liking The Last Soul quite a bit. It was written exceptionally well and Jace was just the perfect hero, morally incorruptible, handsome, but a dynamo in the bedroom. What gave me problems was Faina. She was well aware that Mastema was a liar and a manipulator. Still she blithely goes about ruining Jace even though she was told by a trusted friend that Mastema’s contract was forged. Tsk, tsk, maybe there was a good reason she was in hell. She did redeem herself in the end and do the right thing. The way she brings out Jace’s sexual side went a long way in winning my admiration. Faina was very good at her job and Jace turned out to be a little freaky. All in all, well worth the time invested.
