With his sinister good looks, Noah Winston is the one man— a human with Casus ties—who Willow Broussard has never been able to resist. Once enemies, then lovers, Noah broke her heart. Yet the powerful witch and paranormal private investigator can’t turn him away when he needs her help in protecting his family, him—and the world—against their enemy…

As Noah and Willow work together, the secrets of their turbulent past are slowly exposed, each startling revelation drawing them closer. But when the enemy finally makes a move, Noah will need more than witchcraft and magic to survive. He’ll need his friends, one hell of a plan…and the undying devotion of a tenacious witch whose love is eternal.

Being from a Casus bloodline, Noah Winston figured he was living on borrowed time, but before that time was up, he needed to go back to a place that held some traumatic memories. Willow Broussard couldn’t have been more surprised to find Noah on her aunt’s land in the woods outside of Sacred, Louisiana. She thought she and Sacred had seen the last of him twelve years ago, when he and his family packed up and moved away. After Noah reveals why he’s come back, Willow has no choice but to join Noah in his journey to stop her sister, Sienna from helping the escaped Casus in possessing Noah and his brothers. With the odds against them, and time running out, Noah and Willow have to pull together to stop the death and destruction being caused Anthony Calder and his Casus cohorts.

This is one of my “must read” series, so reading this book was both a joy and a heartbreaking task, since this is the conclusion of the Primal Instinct series. It was doubly so since Noah Winston has been one of my favorite characters since early in the series. With a death sentence he couldn’t see coming or really fight, how he held up to work with the Watchmen in their battles was truly admirable. I would advise readers new to this series to read the books in order to fully appreciate this amazing paranormal world that Ms. Byrd has created. A glossary of terms is provided, but there are so many crossing back stories and characters that reading the books in order is the optimal choice.

Willow’s sister, Sienna has made appearances in several previous books, and I was not entirely certain what her role would be in this story. Rush of Pleasure answers all the reader’s questions from the previous books and ties up the loose ends in a fast paced, sexy and explosive tale that had me laughing, cursing, crying and begging for more. I truly hope we see more of these fantastic characters in future volumes.
