She may be aloof, and more pretty than gorgeous, but Alani Rivers is the kind of woman a hot-blooded mercenary can't forget, no matter how hard he tries. So when Jackson Savor wakes up next to the naked, sleeping beauty—with no memory of what happened— he knows he's been drugged…even if Alani doesn't.
After she was kidnapped, Alani vowed never to trust another man again. Still, something about this strong, sexy hero with the tender touch makes her want to believe him. As Jackson hunts down a mysterious intruder, he swears he'll move heaven and earth to keep Alani safe. But what really happened that night? And will the truth bring them closer than they ever thought possible—or put Alani squarely in harm's way again?
Jackson Savor knew the first time he laid eyes on his boss's younger sister, Alani, that he wanted her in his bed something fierce. Since she was still recovering from a kidnapping a little over a year ago, he hadn’t pushed as hard as he might have, but the simmering attraction was always there between them. It seems all his dreams have come true when he wakes up buck naked with Alani in his bed. The only problem is he can’t remember a single thing about the day before.
Just when I think this series can’t possibly get any better, I read the next book. I looked up from reading and saw I was on page 404 of a 411 page book and almost cried because it would soon be over. Nintey percent of the books I read are from the paranormal romance genre, but Lori Foster is an author that I never miss. Her books transcend all boundaries and just pull you right into her world. I absolutely loved the fact that Alani is the only one who can remember how thoroughly raunchy Jackson was that first night and she taunts him with it continuously. I also loved that he poured out his heart and soul to her and can’t remember a blessed word. You know what else I loved about Jackson? A big blonde, tough guy rescues a scruffy stray cat …enough said. Jackson is also one of the most sexually obsessed heroes I have run across in awhile. He either said or thought “boner” about fifty times. Reading about him trying to balance his attraction to Alani while handling Trace’s and Dare’s reaction to it is too funny. I loved the humor and sarcasm the three men throw around like hand grenades.
Of course, there is danger and all kinds threats looming to disrupt the good times. From Alani’s spurned ex to a very nasty criminal element from Jackson’s secretive past. While Alani is not quite as tough as the previous two heroines, Molly and Priss, she is the perfect genteel lady to offset Jackson’s laid back, off beat attitude. A couple of new and very interesting characters are brought into the mix that I am praying will lead to more of this series. Once again, there is nothing I would change about this book and give it my highest recommendation. This is an absolute MUST read series.
