Rating: You Gotta Read

Reviewer: Wendy Mitchell

Fortyish, newly divorced, searching and longing for something different. Something fulfilling and exciting, somewhere far outside my ordinary comfort zone. Lots more to come following my introduction to you in this first volume of a multi-part True Romance / Erotica series. Approximately 6,000 words – this first volume is somewhere around 90% background story, and 10% erotic.

Summer is a newly divorced, ordinary woman in her forties, who is longing to break out of her rut and let her inner vixen run free. After some encouragement from her best friend, Summer utilizes the internet to locate some interesting prospects, who might aid her on her journey. Mark offers her a daring proposition that involves trust and a true sense of adventure. This is the first part of Summer’s Journey.

Sometimes reviewing “new 2 me“ authors can be scary, especially for an erotic submission. I have had some truly horrific experiences on that road, so I was optimistically cautious with this book. Wow, was I ever surprised. Summer’s Journey is a prime example of elegant erotica. It tells a story not just an act. You become invested in Summer’s character as a whole person. This book avoids the trap of using frequent graphic language to cover up a lack of talent or creativity. Without losing any of the sensuality of the genre, the author uses her excellent writing ability to tantalize and entice the reader. Not to say this work is peppered with euphemisms or outdated language. This is not the case, the language is indeed graphic, it’s just used in a tasteful and appropriate manner.

This is just the beginning of Summer’s odyssey, and I certainly am looking forward to the next part of her trip. I still haven’t determined if this is fiction or not, but that’s part of the fun. If you are looking for a quick, spine tingling bit of erotica, I heartily suggest you give this a spin.
