Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer is an entirely new type of fairy tale–one that will keep today's kids guessing and offer them hours of magical fun.
Sleeping Beauty is a classic tale of good versus evil and the triumph of love over great obstacles. It is sweet and typical with the helpless woman and brave hero who saves her.
This is not your typical Sleeping Beauty Tale. Yes there is a baby who is cursed, but this version is so very much more than the typical Sleeping Beauty tale you have read before.
Maureen McGowan has taken a classic tale and added more conflict, more romantic interest and a heroine that is inspirational and strong.
I loved this story. The characters are well written, the scenes are vividly described, and all in all Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer is a fantastic story.
Oh and one more tidbit. The format of this story is one that has to make you smile. It is a good old fashioned choose your own adventure story.
Just in case you are not familiar with the choose your own adventure style: At a certain point in the story the author has written different paths that slightly alter the progression of the story. You may choose the reaction that you prefer and modify the story.
I loved this reminder of the choose your own adventure stories I enjoyed as a child.
Oh and talk about some awesome fight scenes.
I highly recommend Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Hunter and I cannot wait to see more from Maureen McGowan.
